We have a number of profiles to select from to accomodate the depth of your piece.

Frame of Mind offers professional canvas stretching services using sustainably sourced pine stretcher bars.

We can stretch your canvas and assemble for hanging as is, or work together to select and create a beautiful frame to further enhance it for your home.

Frame of Mind picture frames are handmade using sustainable Tasmanian Oak. 

We provide the option to use float glass, or high grade low reflection UV protection UltraVue glass.

Each frame is custom made to fit your artwork, with further custom options such as float mounting, spacers, or a combination of both.

Frame of Mind offers custom framing solutions. We work with a range of different profiles, where each frame is hand sanded and stained in one of our signature finishes to enhance the natural characteristics of the timber.

About Us

Frame of Mind is owned and operated by Felix and Liam.

Felix has been working as an artist and exhibiting his paintings since 2008.

He started Frame of Mind in 2017 as an efficient and affordable way to begin framing his own work.

Through word of mouth and a growing online presence, these qualities were quickly passed on to making frames for friends and fellow artists.

Looking to take the next step, Liam joined Felix in 2019. 

Liam came to Frame of Mind with a background in the antique and contemporary auction industry. 

He saw the potential in Frame of Mind, and felt it could allow him to bring together his keen eye, attention to detail and his love for helping people obtain their desired results.

Together they continued to slowly grow the business, working out of a number of temporary spaces, refining their craft and developing their processes. 

In 2021 they took the plunge - moving Frame of Mind into a more permanent home, the workshop they have grown in sync with at 4 Goldsmith Grove, Northcote.

Sustainable Tasmanian Oak

Frame of Mind frames are constructed with sustainably harvested Tasmanian Oak.

Australian Oak is freely available and is continuously harvested. It is considered to be sustainably managed as the species is sourced and processed in Australia from certified native forest plantations.

It meets the Australian Forestry Standard and the Chain of Custody Certifications.

It is a beautiful timber that through careful sanding and staining gives a stunning finish to accompany whatever artwork or piece it is framing.

Local Materials

Our custom frames are made with locally sourced and produced Tasmanian Oak. 

We use local glass, perspex and material suppliers. 

We love to work with other small businesses in particular, and have built strong and lasting relationships as we've grown at Frame of Mind.

Stains and Custom Finishes

After we have cut, joined and sanded your beautiful Tasmanian Oak frame, comes the time for staining or providing a custom finish.

Through our initial consultation process we look at the various samples of stain options we use at Frame of Mind.

Using our experience and expertise, we work with you to find a stain that compliments and enhances your piece.

We always love to talk through any ideas, variations on our options or custom paint jobs and finishes you may be envisaging!
